Absolute Poker Review & Information

It’s safe to say that Absolute doesn’t have the best looking poker suite out there, but if the appearance of the room you’re playing at isn’t terribly important to you, it does have its redeeming qualities. While the graphics aren’t quite up to today’s standards, there are a lot of customization options; including table ’skins’ that allow you to change the in-game appearance, as well as personal icons for each player (if desired). This allows you to upload your own little picture to represent your avatar when you’re seated, and is one of the fun little quirks of the room.

The software plays well enough, at a good fast pace and with all the standard games you would expect. Lower-limit Texas Hold’em seems to be the most popular tables on the go here, and the level of competition across the board is fairly average.

All in all it’s not the cream of the crop, but with a good customer service team, a fair number of players and generous sign up bonuses for new players, it’s a fine place to play.

Absolute Poker is a download-only poker room, suitable for PC users running on Windows only. The custom software is small, quick, and efficient, but most people would agree somewhat ugly. Sound effects lack something to be desired, graphics and animations are somewhat low-res.

A pretty standard layout in terms of games and tournaments offered. There are a decent number of players on the lower limit tables, including sit and go tournaments and a few active patrons on the Stud and Omaha games. Limits don’t go very high however, and even the mid-limit tables don’t have a lot of play at most times.

Perhaps to make up for the mediocre software, Absolute currently offers a very generous 100% bonus up to $300 free to new players.

Absolute offers all the ’standard’ poker games, including Hi-Lo versions of both Omaha and 7 Card Stud. The stakes go down to an insanely low $0.02/$0.04 up to $75/$150, but there are few players on the higher limits.

While the response times are usually quite good, Absolute unfortunately only offers e-mail support at this time, no Toll free service is available.

All in all, Absolute Poker is a decent place to play for lower-limit Hold’em fans if you can get past the graphics, but doesn’t really have the goods for mid to high stakes players.
